The Centre for Faculty Development (CFD) is a partnership between Unity Health Toronto and the University of Toronto’s Temerty Faculty of Medicine. We are committed to supporting the development of our participants and community members in their multiple roles and activities in health professions education.

Membership Program is open!

Become a member of the CFD for exclusive discounts, and special
access to engaging programming and resources around health
professions education.**

**General Membership is free for Unity Health Toronto and UofT Temerty Faculty of Medicine. All participants enrolled in a CFD longitudinal program (3 months or longer), will be automatically enrolled at the start of the academic year.

We provide flexible and adaptable programming that is responsive to emerging needs, facilitates communities and networking, and supports capacity building across the health professions education system.     Project ECHO (Extension of Community Health Outcomes) is an evidence-based hub-and-spoke model for continuing professional development and capacity building. This presentation will summarize our journey in launching and expanding the ECHO Ontario Mental Health Program including how research has guided its education program design, implementation and creation of virtual communities of practice to better support healthcare providers in remote and underserved areas.

    This workshop introduces participants to six paradigms of education relevant and prevalent in HPE. Participants are provided with an overview of each paradigm, how they are related to common education practices in HPE and how awareness of paradigmatic details and differences support aligned teaching/assessment approaches.

    This workshop provides participants with the opportunity to reflect on both providing feedback from the teacher’s perspective and receiving feedback from the learner’s perspective. We will compare and contrast different “conversational choices” available to educators as part of their learning conversations.
