Dr. Petal Abdool, effective September 1, 2022, has been appointed as the new Faculty Lead, Simulation Education Integration.   The Faculty Lead, Simulation Education Integration position is designated as a supporting role in consolidating, integrating, and evaluating simulation education activities at the University of Toronto, Temerty Medicine and its affiliated hospitals.

Dr. Abdool is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychiatry, University of Toronto and works within the Geriatric Division at the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health as an out-patient psychiatrist and is a Consultation-Liaison Geriatric Psychiatrist at Providence Healthcare. She also serves as the Assistant Program Director, International Medical Graduates, in the Department of Psychiatry and in January 2022, was appointed as the inaugural Medical Director of Simulation Centre at the Centre for Addition and Mental Health (CAMH).

We have been thrilled to have Petal as one of our most recent graduates of the Education Scholars Program. It is exciting to see our program graduates taking on exciting system leadership roles. Dr. Abdool firmly believes the 2 year Education Scholars Program gave her the theoretical foundation, inspiration and confidence to apply for this leadership role.
