Dr. Cheng’s Impact

“Having collaborated closely with Dr. Cheng across faculty development, clinical education, mentorship, EDIIA programming, and interprofessional learning, I can say unequivocally that she is one of the most impactful and influential faculty developers in our Department and across the Temerty Faculty of Medicine having shaped faculty development locally, nationally, and internationally with contributions spanning nearly thirty years.” – Maria Ivankovic

“I first met Dr. Cheng when she became the Chief of emergency medicine (EM) at Unity Health Toronto (UHT) – St. Joseph’s Hospital. I was the Chief of EM at UHT-St. Michael’s Hospital; therefore, we were tasked with working closely together. Dr. Cheng was an incredible colleague to have in this role – we quickly developed a collaboration that was productive – she is collaborative, trustworthy and together we often sorted through complex issues that benefited from her ability to sort through this and to develop a plan.” – Carolyn Snider

“Dr. Cheng has always been a steadfast champion for both learners and faculty, and I have personally benefited from her mentorship, guidance, and unwavering support. She is a thoughtful and compassionate leader, and a mentor for clinicians across the country—someone who consistently elevates those around her and strengthens the academic community through her insight, generosity, and commitment. I cannot think of a more deserving individual for this award.” – Elizabeth Poon
