Faye Mishna

Professor, Factor-Inwentash Faculty of Social Work, University of Toronto
Faye Mishna joined the Factor-Inwentash Faculty of Social Work at the University of Toronto in 1999 as an Assistant Professor. Prior to her appointment to the Faculty she was Clinical Director of a children’ mental health center. Faye served as the Dean of the Faculty from 2009-2019 and is currently a Professor in the Faculty and cross-appointed to the Department of Psychiatry at the University of Toronto.

Grant Chen
Dr. Grant Chen serves as the Physician Lead, Faculty Development for the Scarborough Academy of Medicine, Temerty Faculty of Medicine. He is an adult gastroenterologist at the Scarborough Health Network and clinical teacher for medical students and residents. He is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Medicine at the University of Toronto. Grant has been teaching for a number of years in the MD program and presently holds the position of Sunnybrook Site Lead for Clinical Skills, in addition to being the Gastroenterology Education Lead for the Scarborough Health Network. He is dedicated to teaching and has finished the Master Teacher Program in the Department of Medicine. Grant has received several awards from the MD program and the Department of Medicine in acknowledgment of his commitment and dedication to teaching.

Grecia Alaniz

Grecia is a pelvic health physiotherapist and PhD Candidate in Health Professional Education at Western University, where she also serves as a Research Fellow at the Wilson Centre. Currently, she works as a Research Officer at the University of Toronto's Dalla Lana School of Public Health, leading the qualitative research component of a national primary care project. Grecia's doctoral research uses critical health discourse to examine fetal health surveillance technologies in pregnancy and childbirth management, bridging clinical practice with critical reflexivity. As an adjunct lecturer in the Department of Physical Therapy at the University of Toronto, Grecia brings a critical lens to clinical education, highlighting the social and ethical dimensions of practice and fostering diverse understandings of musculoskeletal conditions.

Greg Malin

Greg Malin (MD, PhD) is an Associate Professor in the Department of Academic Family Medicine, College of Medicine at the University of Saskatchewan. He is a medical educator. His PhD and research is in the area of Self-Determination Theory, investigation teacher actions and curricular structures that support or hinder learner motivation and well-being. He is an award winning teacher, teaching in the areas of anatomy, embryology and medical education. He is also involved in faculty development. He recently completed a 5-year term as Assistant Dean, Academic UGME. He attended the NEAL course in 2021-22.

Holly Harris
Holly Harris (she/her) is a research professional specializing in co-production and participatory action research. Holly has extensive experience in leveraging her lived experiences of mental health system encounters to inform the development, delivery, and research of mental health programming and education. Coupled with her lived and professional experiences, Holly’s Master’s in Critical Disability Studies and certificate in Research Administration, are leveraged to ensure that many perspectives, including lived-experience perspectives, are meaningfully engaged in mental health research, education, and programming. Holly is currently working as the Research Coordinator for the Collaborative Learning College at the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health and pursuing a PhD in Gender, Feminist, and Women’s Studies at York University. -
Ivan Silver

Ivan has had a career long interest in faculty development and professional development particularly the development of our next generation of health professional teachers and supervisors and enhancing the learning of clinicians in practice.He is an award winning teacher, leadership and teaching coach and medical educator. Ivan is a Geriatric Psychiatrist at CAMH and a full Professor in the Department of Psychiatry.
Ivan was the inaugural director of the Centre for Faculty Development (2002-2009), the Vice-Dean of CPD at the University of Toronto (2005-2011) and the inaugural VP of Education at CAMH (2012-2018). He has published widely in the areas of faculty development and continuing professional development. He is continuing his scholarship in the areas of feedback, coaching, life-long learning and more recently late-career transitioning. He is enthralled by the beauty of nature, art, world music and making a difference in people’s lives. He believes in the power of butterfly wings.

Jacquelin Forsey

Jacquelin is a PhD student at the Rehabilitation Sciences Institute at the University of Toronto under the supervision of Dr. Stella Ng and Dr. Nikki Woods. Previously she completed an undergraduate degree in English Literature at McGill University. Her research interests are focused on the way we prepare medical learners to become expert communicators. Jacquelin’s doctoral work takes a linguistic lens to explore the conceptual knowledge, the basic science, underpinning patient-provider communication. Her first study, a critical scoping review of patient-provider communication came out in 2021, and she is currently working on an analysis of communication teaching materials at UHN.

Jameela Lencucha

Jameela Lencucha is the Occupational Therapy Academic Clinical Educator and Interim Program Education Lead at Toronto Rehabilitation/University Health Network. She has been practicing clinically in acute care for over 15 years and currently is an OT in the Krembil Neurosciences Program at the Toronto Western Hospital. She has been involved in clinical education throughout her career within UHN and in the Occupational Science & Occupational Therapy program at the University of Toronto. She is interested in and committed to lifelong learning and adapting practice to optimize the learner experience.
