Description
Providing an enriched learning experience while fulfilling clinical responsibilities requires effective teaching approaches. Core areas related to teaching in the clinical environment will be illustrated through a variety of teaching scenarios, and case-based learning. The workshop will combine didactic teaching, interactive polling and small and large group exercises to allow participants to further their understanding in these areas.
At the end of the workshop, participants will be able to: - Describe the unique nature of clinical teaching;
- Apply strategies to enhance the educational climate in their clinical setting;
- Compare and contrast different preceptorship models;
- Discuss the importance of transparency and labelling in clinical teaching and;
- Recognize non-hierarchical teaching approaches
