3:00-4:00pm - Magritte and the “Art” of Health Professions Education - Keynote by Ivan Silver
"Everything we see hides another thing, we always want to see what is hidden by what we see, but it is impossible." - René Magritte
René Magritte was a Belgian surrealist artist, famous for his impressions of familiar objects in unfamiliar, unexpected contexts. Magritte thought of himself as a poet who expressed his words and discourse through visual images, which is depicted by the endless interpretations of his paintings.
In this keynote, Ivan Silver will connect art and healthcare through storytelling, explaining how understanding the messages in Magritte's artwork can help us understand the continuing evolution of health professions education. Join us for what will be a unique and thought provoking journey in challenging what we think about health professions education.
4:00-4:30pm - Celebrating our 2024 Program graduates
