Description
This workshop is for faculty who would like to elevate the quality of their mCQs and assessment practices to assess higher order learning such as application and integration of knowledge. Participants will be exposed to current theory on how assessment practices can shape and enhance learning as well work on practical exercise to apply this knowledge to their own assessment practice. A major focus will be on alignment between curriculum, instructional practice, and subsequent assessment.
Participants in this workshop will be exposed to the expectations of MCQ and assessment creation that are aligned with the MD program as well as international and national best practices as exemplified by the NBME and MCC along with authoritative assessment literature. Participants can expect to leave the workshop with resources as well as knowledge on the structure of effective MCQs; will be able to articulate the principles of assessment for learning and how assessment creation can enhance curricular activities.
