Susan is the Program Lead for the Centre for Faculty Development and the founding Director of the New and Evolving Academic Leaders Program (NEAL). Previously she was the founding director of the award winning Education Scholars Program at the CFD. Susan is a Professor in the Department of Psychiatry at the University of Toronto (UofT). She completed her Masters of Education in higher education of health professionals at the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education, UT in 2002 and her International Masters in Health Leadership at McGill University in 2008.
Susan has been recognized for her excellence in teaching and innovative program development through numerous awards. Susan’s scholarship focuses on the design and evaluation of leadership development programs for health professional educators, academics and practitioners. She has been a faculty member for the leadership programs of the Canadian Leadership Institute in Medical Education, the Harvard Macy Institute on Leading Innovations in Health Care and Education, the Canadian and Ontario Medical Associations, the Rotman School of Management and the Schulich School of Business.
