Carmen Black

Carmen Black, MD is an assistant professor of psychiatry at the Yale University School of Medicine with a primary clinical appointment at the Connecticut Mental Health Center.  Dr. Black’s educational and advocacy interests safeguard patient safety by emphasizing how provider’s own biased behavior can iatrogenically harm patients and/or exacerbate patient distress during real-time clinical practice.  She also possesses academic expertise in removing police and security involvement from hospital behavioral emergency protocols.
